State-of-the-art robotic surgery in action

Thanks to additional equipment totalling £28K purchased by the League, the £1.5M state-of-the-art Da Vinci robot, which is normally used for operations on the prostate, bladder and kidneys, can now be used to operate on tumours in the head and neck. The procedure involves minimally invasive surgery through the patient’s mouth, rather than the traditional method of breaking their jaw to gain access, reducing post-operative complications and an earlier discharge home. Just the sort of funding which makes our fundraising so worthwhile😊
