An impressive £13,000 was raised for the Kent and Canterbury Hospital at the League of Friend’s annual summer fair - the best result for a decade. It was raised at stalls and sideshows run by League volunteers and hospital staff, as well as the traditional grand draw. League Chairman, Catriona Irvine, congratulated everyone involved in organising and running the fair, especially hospital staff and League members for manning stalls and lead organiser Louise Coleman. She said: “For several years the League’s fair committee has been introducing new features designed to broaden the appeal of the fair. The dog show has proved particularly successful.” The money raised with be used to purchase equipment for the hospital, benefitting patients, staff and visitors.
