Major Shop Refurbishment

The official opening of the newly refurbishment shop

On Friday 16 October 2020 the League of Friends shop in the main entrance of the Kent & Canterbury Hospital was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Canterbury, Cllr Pat Todd and the Lady Mayoress, Dr Elizabeth McGown. Also in attendance was Dr Catriona Irvine, Chairman of the League, Clare Blakemore, Shops Trustee, Shop Colleague Sam and Shop Manager Matt. The professional and attractive environment provides a modern new facility for staff, patients and visitors. Many new lines have been added together with a freshly ground bean to cup coffee machine, which is proving very popular. We are always happy to welcome volunteers to join the many already working hard to support their local hospital. Volunteers frequently tell us they find their shifts both enjoyable and rewarding.
